The initiative is part of the Case Area Targeted Interventions (CATI) approach, which ZRCS is implementing in Chililabombwe, Kabwe, Mpulungu, Mbala, Senga Hill, Lusaka, and Luangwa districts. Through this approach, ZRCS has been collaborating closely with government authorities to deliver localized responses that help curb the spread of cholera and protect those most at risk.
The donation was graced by Dr. Kennedy Lishimpi, who represented Ministry of Health Minister, Honorable Elijah Muchima. In his remarks, the Minister expressed gratitude to ZRCS and its partners, reaffirming government’s commitment to working alongside key stakeholders to achieve a cholera-free Zambia.


Dr. Muzala Kaping’a, ZRCS Health and Care Board Chairperson, Dr. Muzala Kaping’a underscored the life-saving significance of the donated hygiene kits. She emphasized that the kits will enable households to prevent infections, respond promptly to early symptoms, and disrupt the chain of cholera transmission within their communities. Dr. Kaping’a reaffirmed ZRCS’s dedication to inclusivity, stating, “We remain steadfast in our mission to ensure that no community is left behind until cholera outbreaks are eliminated and every Zambian community thrives in good health and resilience.”

In attendance at the handover was Mr Kopano Masilo who is IFRC Head of Delegation for Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. The event also brought together British Deputy High Commissioner to Zambia, Mr. Simon Ten Brinke-Jackson, ZRCS Secretary General, Mr. Cosmas Sakala, and other distinguished representatives from government and partner organizations. Their participation underscored the collective commitment to strengthening public health and building resilient communities across Zambia.
